Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 28, 2026 (added the contact email and our commitment to handle requests within 7 days. October 27: added that the server signs up for YouTube's new-video notifications for requested channels so new videos show up sooner. October 25: channel names and image URLs are no longer stored on the server; the browser fetches them again instead. Imported channels past the deadline can be restored by importing again. October 24: updated to match how the service actually works regarding information sent to the server, stored video information, account deletion, Continue watching and images loaded from other sites)

This English translation is provided for convenience. If it differs from the Korean version, the Korean version prevails.

Plainfeed (the "Service") is a website that collects new videos from the YouTube channels you choose and shows them in the order they were posted. The Service uses YouTube API Services. By using the Service, you are deemed to agree to this policy and the Google Privacy Policy.

1. Information the Service handles

If you don't sign in: stored in this browser

The following information is stored in your device's browser storage (localStorage). The Service does not store your lists on its server (values sent when checking for new videos are described under "Information sent to the server" below).

Clearing your browser's site data deletes all of it. If you are signed in, the lists on this device are deleted when you Sign out.

If you sign in: stored on the server for use across devices

When you sign in with your Google account, the lists above are stored on the Service's server (Cloudflare D1) so they look the same on your phone and computer.

Information sent to the server

To load new videos and comments and to add channels, the Service sends YouTube channel IDs and video IDs (and the comment ID when you expand its replies), as well as the channel URL (or @handle or video URL) you enter when adding a channel, to the Service's server. The server uses these values to fetch public information from YouTube (channel RSS, names and images, video length and view counts, public comments and replies) and stores it briefly. This cache is not linked to who made the request; it is cleaned up daily, and entries older than 30 days (1 day for comments and replies) are deleted. To show new videos sooner, the server signs up with YouTube (Google) for new-video notifications for channels requested in the last 30 days, and fetches that channel's RSS ahead of time when a notification arrives. For this, the server stores only the channel ID and when it was last requested, never who requested it, and deletes channels not requested for 30 days. The Service also sends the display language (Korean or English) so error messages can be shown in that language; this is not stored.

The Service runs on Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process access logs (such as IP addresses) for security and operations.

2. Using your Google account (optional)

Sign in with Google

"Sign in with Google" is used only to identify you through Google Sign-In. From the sign-in verification information Google sends, the Service extracts and stores only your account's unique identifier.

Importing YouTube subscriptions

When you tap "Import from YouTube", the Service separately requests only the permission to view your YouTube account (youtube.readonly).

Revoking access

Channels → Add channel → Disconnect immediately deletes the channels imported from Google and asks Google to revoke the access you granted to this Service (a Google window may briefly appear). If revoking fails, you'll see a notice on screen; in that case, please revoke it yourself on the third-party connections page of your Google Account. You can revoke access on that page at any time. If you are signed in, the channels are also removed from your lists on the server right away, and the deletion markers used to notify other devices are all deleted within 7 days.

The Service's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. External content and cookies

4. Your rights

You can view and delete stored information directly on the site. See channels in Channels, feeds in the feed tabs, and videos you paused in the Continue watching tab. The Continue watching tab shows only videos from your channels. Playback positions for videos from channels you removed or from shared feeds stay among the latest 300, reappear if you add that channel again, and can be deleted in the ways below.

For any other request, please contact us at the address below. We will handle your request and let you know the result within 7 days.
